Energy
The fuel that keeps our world moving
Hydrogen Fuel Cells
Key policy makes consider hydrogen fuel cells the most promising decarbonization option for trucks, buses, ships, trains, large cars, and commercial vehicles. The difficult experimental environment of a fuel cell makes numerical simulation a critical tool to improve fuel cell performance, life-span and costs.
Fuel cell models at full complexity are comprised of nonlinear coupled PDEs governing e.g. gas and water transport, proton diffusion, conductivity, chemistry, heat transfer and phase changes.
Solving such models in 3D at full complexity requires very substantial approximation.
PASQAL’s research in this field is supported by €10M funding from the European Innovation Council.
PASQAL’s unique and proprietary solvers for differential equations promise a more accurate and efficient solution and implemented on our quantum processors these methods promise quantum advantage in the very near-term.

Quantum in Real Life

BASF
"PASQAL’s quantum solutions are ideal for simplifying BASF’s complex computational simulations. Leveraging PASQAL’s quantum processors for weather modeling validates quantum computing’s ability to go beyond what can be achieved with classical high performance computing. This transformational technology helps us prepare for climate change impacts and drive progress toward a more sustainable future."
