Mission Planning
In a constrained environment, a mission preparation operator must propose trajectories that meet the needs of its staff in terms of: precision, penetration capability, time constraints,…
In a rising complexity environment, finding the optimal path for Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAVs) will need to integrate new features like global optimization using many criteria and many objectives.
Current solutions are based on meta-heuristics such as ant colony, genetic algorithms, A*, etc.
Challenges faced with these solutions, are among others: How to handle efficiently multi-objectives and multi-constraints; curse of dimensionality for multi-criteria; Solution quality: a rising complexity implies a trade-off.
The main challenge is to incorporate a large number of variables in the optimization process. With its 100+ qubit platform, high connectivity and high performance, PASQAL’s QPU can address efficiently large size problems, that are out of reach of classical computing systems.

Quantum in Real Life

Thales
"Thales is fully committed to developing quantum technologies in particular for quantum sensors and quantum communications that will provide a real breakthrough for many Thales’ application domains. What is of particular importance to us, is that we will be able, together with PASQAL, to design and solve optimization problems related to real use cases of high importance for our customers, such as air traffic optimization or space mission scheduling to name a few."
